Marion Boehm German, 1964-2023

"Every encounter brings us something, every person opens us up to the world and helps us to better understand its diversity. The stranger is no longer a stranger, but a new piece of home. The other becomes a fragment of the mirror of our own self".

Her work has been collected around the world and exhibited at numerous exhibitions and art fairs in Germany, France, Lithuania, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, South Africa, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.Inspired by art and a variety of materials, Marion Boehm draws on her memories of her grandmother, a passionate embroiderer and guardian of an ancestral skill, as well as on her decisive encounters in Africa.

Originally from Germany, she explores the female portrait, celebrates human exchanges between north and south, and revives the techniques of weaving and unique collage. Her sensitivity shines through in a series of captivating and intriguing portraits, rich in tonality.
